Andreas Baumhof

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Andreas has over 10 years experince in the the cyber security space. He is a thought leader with deep experience in the Encryption, PKI and Phishing space. Andreas was formerly a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Microdasys Inc. (US) - a leading provider of Deep Content Security Solutions. He developed the first ever SSL Proxy and has patents pending in Europe, USA and Australia.

He is a internationally reknown cyber security researcher and speaker at financial services and cyber security events in Europe, USA and Australia.

Andreas holds a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Munich in Germany. He moved permanently to Australia in 2003. Andreas has a wide range of expertise having filled technical positions as well as senior management positions before.

Ted Egan

Executive Director & Co-founder
Ted has over 20 years’ experience as an entrepreneur in the ICT and security industry. He formerly was the founding Chairman until March 2010 and CEO of the company until August 2011 where he handed over the reigns to Andreas Baumhof. Ted remains an active member driving sales and strategy while supporting a global team of technology thought leaders focused on breaking new ground in the internet security space while revolutionising the way we protect transactions against the next generation of online threats both in the internet and in the cloud. Ted is a passionate member of the security and ICT industry where he is always looking for new ways for business, government and consumers to build 'trust' and 'safety' in our developing online environment.    

Ted's previous roles including, Principal ICT consultant to leading Government and IT companies, Sales Director of an Australian Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) specialising in highly secure infrastructure support and services, as well as leading the Practice Development for a leading European-based global telecommunications provider in the Asia Pacific Region. In the mid 90’s, Ted helped pioneer the Australian Internet Security space with the creation of one of the initial safe Internet content providers and one of the earliest listed dot coms in Australia, Kidz.Net.

His career in information technology, online security and telecommunications began when he joined the Australian Defence Force in the mid 80's, serving in the Weapons Electrical Engineering and Communications arm for a decade.

Jerry S. Yohananov

Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary
Jerry is the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of the Company and is responsible for the management of the financial and administrative health of the company. Previously, Jerry started his career with KPMG – working in the Tampa Bay Florida office for 7 years and in the Amsterdam office for an additional 3 years. In 1999, he joined KPNQwest NV as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations, an alternative telecommunication data company that built the largest fibre optic network in Europe. He project managed one of the largest IPOs in the sector, with proceeds over Euro 1 billion in equity and Euro 600 million in high yield bonds. In 2003 he migrated to Australia and was involved in several projects, including founding a retail loyalty programme with operations in Australia and the US. In October 2006 he was appointed Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary and Director of NextGen Gaming, one of the largest independent developer and supplier of gambling games domiciled in Sydney and backed by a prominent venture capital firm.

Jerry holds a degree with Bsc. in Accounting at the Florida State University USA and also is a Certified Public Accountant in the USA.

 

Mike Medsker

Sales & Business Development EMEA

Mike is responsible for Sales and Business Development for the EMEA region in addition to being the Senior Product Manager. Prior to joining TrustDefender Mike was a Manager in the Information & Technology risk group at Deloitte in London and part of Deloitte’s Security Transformation practice in the US. With over 8 years of security experience, he has helped some of the largest organisations in the world solve their IT security and fraud issues.

Mike has a degree in Computer Technology from Purdue University in the US, and holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) accreditation. He brings to the team business acumen, innovated thinking, and a specialised knowledge in endpoint security, device fingerprinting and fraud detection.

Matthias Baumhof

Vice President Research and Development

Matthias earned a Masters of Electrical Engineering from the Technical University in Karlsruhe, Germany.  His main focus has always been on creating high quality software systems.  

Matthias, a software engineering specialist, has been managing software teams on different continents for the last fifteen years.  He has over seven years of experience in the IT security industry.

Prior to joining TrustDefender, he was Chief Technology Officer at Microdasys, a leading provider of enterprise SSL security solutions. While at Microdasys, Matthias was responsible for designing new security products  and honed his skills while negotiating technical implementations with various OEM partners.

Alex Shipp

European Vice President of Advanced Threat Research
With over ten years’ experience at MessageLabs (recently acquired by Symantec). Alex is a pioneer in the email and cyber security technology industry, developing multiple patents. He is best known for using massive computing power to detect malware and currently holds eleven patents in the area. He has developed a variety of security products with some of the highest track records in the world and led the creation of in-the-cloud detection systems to protect customer’s infrastructure from malware infection via email and web traffic.

Alex leads Research and Development operations for TrustDefender in Europe. Alex brings a wealth of technical skills and hands-on approach to developing TrustDefender’s overall technology team.
